About 2 weeks ago, started a fairly loud clicking/vibrating noise from under the truck. Now its to the point i can almost here it over the exhaust. I'm curious, can it be my catalytic converter going out on me or is my muffler doing something strange. I went to the shop where i had my muffler installed, its a flowmaster not sure of the series. He said that its my catalytic converter, but then i took it the auto shop and they said it could be my muffler telescoping the noise into the catalytic converter. Its an odd noise, hard to expplain, kinda like a few marbles inside of a tin can and you shake it a little bit, best i can come up with lol. If its my catalytic converter, can i just remove it and replace it when i need to get smogged again? I live in california so there VERY **** about this type of stuff. my truck has noises coming from the cat as well if youve got flowmasters i would assume (depending on how old they are) that it was the cat and not the muffler i cant compare the noise to yours because the f-in r-tard who owned it before me took a 3" hole saw and drilled into the cat and now it just sounds like crap but i would say go ahead and replace the cat to do that rent an exaust seperator and and then get the cat out slide the new one into place and clamp it down
