[:@]I am having what sounds like metal to metal tapping when the truck is in motion. The pitch and frequency don't seem to change with the speed. I evenput the truck in neutral and turned the truck off will in motion, but the tapping was still there. This has been going on for a few months, since being a military man, husband, and father of 4 really drain the bank account and free time. Any ideas?

Some info on the truck- 2001, 1500 SLT, Quad cab,V-8, 5.9L, 4X4, short bed, 85K miles.

 

Check the u-joints in the front end, they give a clicking sound goin down the road when they are toast

Its alright it probably 30 degrees right now, there is roughly 3 inches of snow everywhere
