Wow, deja vu. Not to be an ***, but there are literally several threads over this topic on the first two pages. Anyways:

People have mixed emotions on plugs around here. Some like the autolite 3923 copper core plugs, others like champion truck plugs. I personally like the 3923's and are only $2.50 per two pack at walmart, but you really cant go wrong with either one.

1: Jeg's has a cap and rotor combo for $20. Good looking 8mm wires for $30. The wires on Jeg's say that they only fit '94 to '00, but I sent them an email, and they said they DO fit 2001 models as well.

2: Summit has a cap/rotor and 8mm wires combo for about $48

3: NAPA has Champion plugs about $1.39/ea for 436 (regular plug) or about $1.89/ea for 4436 (truck plug)

4: Wal-Mart has the Autolite 3923's for about $2.50 for a two-pack.

5: MSD makes wires as well for a lot more money.

That's just a few options out there...

I just can't bring myself to pay for their wires...too much $$$ I can see paying for a coil or an ignition system, but can their wires really be that much better than others for half the price?

Sorry to momentarily jack the thread spitfire[8D]

Man, I clicked this thread hoping it was someone with experience, not another question. I use the 3924's and they're alright. Really can't tell an improvement, but I just needed to swap out the old plugs as they were burnt up.

I think this is something that can't be cut and dry...it takes experimentation. What one engine performs well with, another may not like. I think this has been shown time and again with the plugs. Just see what parts are out there, use your own judgement and maybe you'll find a great combo that no one knows about.

I tried the Autolites and they caused a misfire on #3, made my truck run like a dog, and cut my fuel mileage. I regapped and reinstalled my Champions and my truck runs great. I plan on upgrading to the 8mm plug wires, but I'll stick with the stock distributor and coil rather than try the super bad-*** 50-zillion volt aftermarket stuff.
