Default Help...I'm FRUSTRATED!!!!

I have a 2000 3500 dually Diesel 2wd. 10,500 gvw with 4wabs. The front right bearing to a dump on me today, so I tore it down. Well low and behold it's a sealed bearing in the rotor/hub assembly.

The part jobbers all tell me no it doesnt have this. I almost choked one parts guy. They all tell me my truck has bearings and races, and look at me like i'm crazy when I tell them it's a sealed bearing.

Is this a dealer only item? Do I get the hub with the bearing or can you get just the bearing?

Man, i'll admit... i'm a Ford Guy. But this pulls my mustang to the track... and it's the first problem i've had with it.

Thanks in advance!

yes, it is a sealed bearing/hub assy.
no, it is not dealer only. its available from all parts stores.
yes, its very expensive, probably 250-300 for each side.
yes, it can be a pita to get the old brg/hub out of the knuckle.
no, it is not pressed it, but can seem like it trying to get the old one out.

this article is for a Dana 44 1500, but i think your 3500 is same design.

Mine is not like that. The ABS sensor is on the knuckle.

When you unbolt the hub extension for the wheels to remove it from the rotor, the hub falls out the rear. It's 8 lug and has a sealed bearing in it. There is a c clip that retains the bearing, as it looks like it's pressed into this hub piece.

I took the caliper off, the caliper bracket... then one nut with no lock held the rotor on. Removed the nut and the entire rotorbearing and all came off. I've searched and searched the net for a picture to no end!!!

Thoughts?

Cool download. Thx!

In that book, chapter2 page 9. Top right picture, that is like my setup, except mine is 8 lug.

Napa, car quest, advance, autozone.... all drew a blank.

It just kills me that I told those simpletons I needed a hub assembly that went on a spindle type knuckle. They just didn't get it.
