Default Anyone tried this air intake set-up??

Looks like it would let way more air in than a standard 14x3, not the best looking. They have a few at my local Discount auto parts store for a little less than this site:

This site says its for a motorcycles, yet its 14x3. The one I saw said it replaces the top and filter of any standard 14x3 filter.

Seems like a good filter, and it would let alot more air in too.

That was the filter I originally wanted to buy along with the top filter, but the edelbrock pro flow was just so cheep that I couldnt pass it up.

When I saw it I thought it could make a good ram-air intake. I may try it out.

The ramairbox is/was the best intake Ive used and track tested.(on my buddiesradical/408 now)The ramairwill not work with the extreme lid cause any boost pressure will escape through the top of the lid.

FYI, with the ramairbox installed, the twin 4" ducts in the fog light openings, going 70mph on the highway it would make about 1/2lb to 3/4lb boost on my vac/boost gauge. (installed gauges before s/c)

+1 infinity...Did that with my camaro and it worked great on the HWY. Just look on ebay for a dual snorkel intake and connect plastic or rubber ducting and hose clamps. Old Mopars had the dual snorkel, and they go for about 40-70 bucks on ebay. Easy as123to make a homemade dual snorkel.

The edelbrock pro flow net me2.5 MPG extra. Don't get the xstream lid...120 is way too much for an air cleaner. the pro flow will give you better bang for your buck and the K&N won't outperform it. I just bought a pro flo from summit for 18 dollars. there is shipping on an extra 10.99 but i was buying other stuff too. If you are buying lots of stuff from summit throw that into the cart as well.

PRO FLOW:

Get it and you won;t look back

does the Pro Flow mount up just like the round one would? i read something you wrote it about the otherday (at elast i think it was you) and am thinking about doing that instead of the round

I have that Edlbrock pro flow too. The only thing I don't like is it says to clean the filter every 2k miles and it makes a loud sucking noise. I assume any intake like this makes that noise though so not a big deal and lots of people like it. I'm not too crazy about how often it says to clean the filter.

Anyway it doesn't mount up like the round one. For the round one you apparently have to bend some threaded rod in a S shape. This one just has a bracket included you bend. Although the bracket you bend is flimsy and once you bend it doesn't seem like it wants to stay bent. It kept beding back for me and letting the air hat come a little loose. I bent it how it needed to be and went to a local machine shop and told them to make me a better one that wouldn't bend. They made me a super thick one for $25 that works wonderfully. I don't think I could bend it if I wanted to unless I heated it up with a torch and got it hot enough to bend it. The way it's used I don't think I ever have to worry about it bending or even if I beat on it with a hammer I don't think I could bend it it's so thick.

Do you have any pics with the pro-flow in your truck. That is a really good deal. Does the foam filter work?

Even at $28.95 its a real good deal (with shipping). I may get that, I just want to see how it looks in there.

I wouldn't want to use the Pro-Flo or the extreme lid or whatever

My truck does not have a garage, So I would not want water leaking down in the Intake
