I have asked some supid questions, but considering i have been a member since 2004, and I don;t even have 200 posts, i think i am entitled some stupid questions. And it doesn;t matter that i joined, posted once, and forgot i had joined for about 3 years before posting again.

BTW what does seniority go by on this post? Stars, number of posts or JOIN DATE. If it is by join date then i guess i can flame lv360ramabout jumping the gun. I have been a member longer than some of the admins. i really think seniority goes by how many DIYs you post. I think Steve takes the cake on that one. Silver as well. Those guys are doers, while most of the time i just look at my truck, shake my head and say F*@&.

I don;t even remember what my first post was about. I think i am gonna search that one.

JUST SEARCHED. My first post was inJune of 04 abouthelping a guy who complained of a transmission groan he heard when his truck was warm. Then i dropped off the face of the earth until Dec of 07 when i needed help putting an MSD on and i went to join up and the website basically told me i was already a member and am very stupid for trying to register again.

Speaking of this ----I emailed a couple guys that bought the ones for the Dodge Ram (even though they are all the same part). I have yet to get an answer I wonder why? I believe my shaker gets more supercharge.

You know, I like to give people crap as much as the next person, but instead of complaining that someone is asking what I consider a stupid or dead horse question, how hard is it for me to just hit the "back" button on my browser or just not respond?

Honestly, I think it's just as easy to ignore it and let it slide to page 5 in a couple of days than to get dumb arguments going by being diks to people. And I havebeen that dik,so I can comment on it. Hell, I am guilty of it from time to time...sometimes I'm just too lazy to search and then sift through old posts.

But, I do see the point. There are a lot of posts about the same crap 10 times in a week.[8D]

I love you all. In a strictly not gay manner.

Well, I pretty much look at it this way, if your new and you ask a question about a topic that is something that is covered numerous times, I'll answer the question and then let them know that they really ought to be searching.

The situation where there are posts confilcting each other that are based on opinions is what forums are all about. Your not going to find 15 people that all agree about anything and being able to read both sides (or multiple sides) of a topic is interesting and helps the reader develop their own opinions.

If someone posts multiple easy/beginner questions and doesn't take the advice to search first, then I just ignore them. They are not worht the time to even read their posts at that point because they are nopt going to listen anyway.

Forums are kind of funny to me. You always see the same groupings of members no matter where you go. There are always a small group of "know it all", there is always a group of long timers that are very "cliquey oriented", there is always a couple of very helpful guys that have been around a while, there is always a few memebers that really want to be considered in the "cliquey" group but they really haven't done much, and then there is always a couple of really dumb *** kids that will argue with you know matter what you say (these are the ones that never search either). The rest is usually made up of memebers that use the forum to share info and brag a little and are genuinely interested in the theme of the topic (these are the guys that forums were made for IMHO).

So flame the newbies if you wish, ignore them if you don't like them, or only talk to your select few long timers, whatever, but igure out wherever you fit in and live with it, the one thing that never changes is the Forum, Forums never change.....ever, the only thing that happens is the members just move around in to different catagories.
