posi lok button mounting?
hey guys,
i plan on installing the posi lok before next winter because our vacuum operated 4x4 sucks.. it went out on my for about 2 months during the winter and i got stuck once because of it.. i took the cad unit off nd played with it nd put it back on and my 4x4 now works but i dont want to deal with that again next winter. so im just wondering where everybody mounts the button for it? does it have to be mounted in a certain place or would i be able to mount it whereever i want? i was thinking i would mount it lower so i can just step on it to engage it kinda like the hi-beam buttons on older cars.. if anybody would share pics with me that would be great too.. talk to you all later, peace.

You have slight liberty to place it where you want because the cable is pretty long, however, it's also a REALLY beafy cable, so I don't think your going to get much different then anyone else (lower dash). Also, as for steping on it, that won't work. You push the button and pull it out to engage it. It's not just a button.
oooh ok yea i didnt know if it was a push/pull thing or just a regular button.. im asking becasue im not a big fan of the huge red button so i was trying to think of ways to "hide" it sort of.. anybody try hiding it? pics would be great
i don't think you'll hide this big SOB. and you need to be able to reach it.
you might could mount it on the floorboard, just in front of the center seat.
you might could move it over to the left side.
i find its really not in the way where its at. at first i thought my right foot was going to hang up on it when getting in/out, but it hasn't been a problem.
just tell everyone its the ejector seat actuator...
here's some install tips.

you might could. a few things to know. the cable is very thick, 11/16", and very stiff. it does not bend easily. you'd need to keep it out of the t-case and trans shifting linkage. it does not have a lock nut, so you'd have to make a mounting bracket, protect the cable sheath from being cut by the floor pan, and also seal the hole in the pan.
