'01 1500 4X4 5.9L tranny (I think)
New user, posted a question under ram, so I am also going here with it.
Truck is great, no problems before now. Truck will idle forever, but put it in gear and after about 10 ft, shuts down. I can get it past the first couple of shutdowns, and the problem is very rythmic, indications are loss of all electrical (gages shutdown, engine shutdown) for about as long as it takes to snap your finger and then all back on again for another 10 ft. Never varies in any way.
Code P1762 shows up, but I have no idea what that is. I will gladly take someone fishing for a day in the tampa area for some help with this one...thanks

hello, Welcome to DF!!
Common problem
here's solution:
Turn the ignition off.
Place the vehicle on a hoist that will allow all 4 wheels to rotate freely.
Connect a 700 kPa (100 PSI) transmission pressure gauge to the governor pressure
test port.
Start the engine.
Allow the transmission to reach normal operating temperature.
WARNING: Ensure all 4 wheels do not touch the ground.
Place the gear selector lever in Neutral with the wheels not turning and observe the
pressure gauge.
NOTE: The pressure gauge should read less than 20.6 kPa (3 PSI).
Bring the vehicle speed slowly to 40 km/h (25 MPH) and observe the pressure gauge
again.
NOTE: The pressure gauge should read 110-165 kPa (16-24 PSI).
Are both pressure gauge readings what they are supposed to be?
All
Yes - Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance
with the Service Information.
No - Replace the Governor Pressure Solenoid (part of the Transmission
Solenoid Assembly) in accordance with the Service Information.
