thermostat replacement

Default thermostat replacement

How hard is it to change out the stock thermostat??? I went out and bought a 180 degree thermostat today.
My bad, it was a 180 degree thermostat.....sorry

not hard but don't run a 160* you'll probably throw a code as the truck won't heat up to correct operating temp. The truck will just waste gas trying to heat the engine up.

160* I didn't even know they went that low! The first time you do it it's a pain in the butt, you've gotta remove a bunch of brackets and all that! I'd suggest cutting the tab off of the housing when you do it now to save you the headache later on. Other than that, it's pretty simple, I just did mine not to long ago, though I forgot to cut the tab off, damn[:@]

Treat yourself to a Chiltons or go to the DIY. Treat yourself to a nice scraper too!
