Default Oil Problems

I recently purchased a used 1997 Ram 1500 with a 5.2L V8. It is a single cab long bed. The truck has 199k miles on it. I have only put about 250 miles on the truck and it is now losing oil pressure. It does not happen until the truck completely warms up. I can drive it for about 10 minutes and then the oil pressure drops below 40 and sometimes drops down to 0. I immediately turn the truck off when the oil pressure drops all of the way down. If I wait a few minutes and start the truck again, oil pressure comes right back. I have tried changing the oil first and no luck. I then changed the oil pressure sensor on the top of the block (PITA to get to!) and no luck. I read that it could be the oil pump or even cam bearings. My question is, how far should I keep going? Anything else I should check? How much do you guys think I could get for it as is? Thanks.

Default RE: Oil Problems

your oil pump mite be taking a dump , oil pump screen mite be getting cloged , crankshaft bearing mite be wearing out...
1st: hook a mechanical oil gauge up to make sure its not the gauge its self not going bad or has a short in it..
