Carb vs EFI
Thanks now im getting some ideas. im gonna sk some of the mechanics here at work, and maybe visit a few junk yards see whats out there, maybe just try what Jr. suggested just for ****s and giggles! but seeing as how the computer is fried, and there is no wiring, i gotta figure that part out first.
i should be able to pull the motor this weekend, we'll see.
i wanna get that book "big block numbers from small block mopars" (or something like that)does anyone know if it covers such subjects as this?

I really dont think there would be any way of setting timing. I think without the injectors plugged in the computer isnt able to compute timing properly. I dont KNOW, but that would be a concern of mine. It all hinges on what the computer can handle. If converting to a carb makes the computer lame and it refuses to function properly youll have to start looking at all the other things weve discussed.

Lets look at this as simple as possible. What would happen, if, he decided to put a carb intake on, carb, and put a regulator on the stock fuel pump? (and un plug the injectors of course) I know it would set off a crap load of codes, but I am curious if it would run or the ASD relay would kill the spark.

The pcm does not monitor fuel pressure so your good there. Jr. brings up a good point. Why not bypass the regulator on the stock pump, install an inline regulator, andrun a return line back down to the tank. I guess you would have to figure out the duty rating on the stocker. It may work.
Keep in mind, this wouldn't be something to depend on as a dd. lol
Well, looks like its becoming more feasable.
dont mean to steal the thread, mopower, do you know where I can get an inline adjustable regulator that snaps btwn the fuel line and the fuel rail? Iv been looking for something for a while but cant find anyone that makes one. Im about to go get a mallory universal one if I cant find anything.

What would be nice is something similar to this: http://www.jegs.com/p/Edelbrock/755239/10002/-1/11939
It might be worth checking into to see if anyone makes a kit for your engine...
