yes, because the bolts are steel and the intake is aluminum. If you torque too much the bolts will strip the threads and your intake will not be seated tight.

I was wondering about the TTY bolts. Can the bolts only handle 12 ft pds and then they are no good? What is the yield? What does that mean?
I have a non-dodge that I am working on, and it like many other cars has an aluminum intake. So I guess I can't re-use the bolts here either.
I just don't get the point, why make bolts TTY? Why have them so they can only be used once? I just can't see bolts getting warped or damaged after 12ft/lbs. I bought the high priced bolts from Hughes, I just question why I needed them.

72 in/lbs is the torque, which equates to 6 ft/lbs. The two torque wrenches I had didn't go that low (stupid clicker pieces of crap), so I guestimated. Since then, I've bought a tried-and-true bar style ft/lbs torque wrench and I scored a bar-style in/lb torque wrench off of E-Bay.
wiat.. I though 72 in/lbs is6ft/lbs? ( 12in/lbs=1 ft/lbs ) ?
