Default instrument cluster question

hey so i've been looking everywhere for the white with blue gauge face cover and i can't find one anywhere that will fit in my truck. every place that sells them have the rpm gauge beside the spedo. mine has the fuel there. does anyone know where i can find one for my gauge cluster?

also will a stock instrument cluster out of a truck with the rpm gauge work in my truck? or will it try and read fuel where the rpm is?

I've seen the colored faces on ebay before for the ones with the fuel gauge. Just have to keep watching, or go to the sellers store and see if they sell that variety too.

As for swapping the entire cluster, i've read multiple times that the wiring you need is there already, and swapping in a cluster with a tach in place of the one with the fuel gauge will work with no issues (tach and fuel gauge will work correctly). I'm about to do this on mine maybe in a day or two, so i'll let you know. The only issue that you have to watch out for is the odometer reading. It is stored on the cluster, so if you change that at all, you have to disclose it if you plan to sell the vehicle later, otherwise it is odometer fraud which is a federal offense. The cluster I bought with a tach had more miles then mine does, but by time I do the swap, i'll have driven mine so they are exactly the same. No problems this way.

ok thanks alot. Ya i know what you mean about the odometer, i'd like to find one with lower km's on it since my heads and valves are brand new and almost everything but the differentials is new but i don't plan on selling it for a long long time.
