Default E-Fan?

I searched and couldn't find any recent updates on electric fan installation, requirements, shrouds, etc. So I gotta bring it back up to topic, what are some good brands, sizes and shrouds to go with?

I don't think you could go wrong with anything Flex-a-lite, so long as it moves enough CFM's to cool the radiator. 4000-5000CFM should be adequate depending on how hard you work the truck.

The Flex-a-lite controller model 31165 (I think that's the right number) is a great controller. It works with Radiator temp, the A/C Clutch, has a variable speed setting so the fans don't get worked more than they need to, it has a 6 second soft start so it doesn't pull amps while starting the truck, and it will run 30 seconds after shutting down the truck to cool the radiator.

Do you have a writeup or anything? I read one of your earlier posts and found it interesting, just hoping they had a writeup of an installation by now

Shott8283 did one of the longer posts about setting up e-fans.
Also don't be afraid to check out those Dakota boys pages either. Some of those guys get pretty obsessed with trying to get speed out of their Daks and many more than us Ram guys have installed E-fans.
I never did a Write up, because I thought it was pretty well covered by what I found in Shott's post and the Dak boys info.

padodgeram might build you a nice shroud if you give him the proper motivation...$$$

BTW, the fans I ordered were Proforms straight from the Oreilly Auto Parts web site. I have a 16"puller on the back of the radiator and a 14" pusher on the front of the AC condenser, staggered so it covers the maximum amount of radiator possible. No Problems yet, but I've only had them in since July. Had to unplug the A/C Clutch starter on the controller as the heat would also turn them on and overcool the truck on a cold day and throw a P1281 code. I'll plug it back in in the summer when we see consistant 80* days.
