Default Too much interior moisture??

Ok so this has been strangely happening to me the last few weeks. I live up in New England where it still is pretty cold. I had left a shirt on the floor of my truck last night, and when I went to get it this morning the shirt was frozen solid! It was not wet when I put it in there so it had no reason to freeze. I then touched the carpet to find it was a solid block of ice. Then while waiting for my truck to warm up all morning, I noticed the ice would not melt off the outside of my windshield. I went out and tried to scrap it off only to find that all the ice buildup was on the inside of the glass!! This is leading me to believe that that there is way too much moisture in the truck? This has been happening to me for the last few weeks. Could it be possible the water is seeping into the truck somewhere? What can I do here? Wait for a warm day then try toshop vac the carpet???

You may want to check the level of fluid in the radiator. If you see that it is low, it might indicate that you may have a leak in the heater core and that would account for the excessive interior moisture that has frozen on everything. It may also account for the lack of thawing of the windshield while warming the truck up. The open window idea by 05cumminscrx is probably the culprit, but this is just another idea to check. You may want to make sure that there is an adequate amount of antifreeze in the water of the cooling system, if you haven't done so already.

Have to agree with 05 .. unless windshield is leaking or door seals.. but if its that cold... there wouldnt be much water running it would be froze.. and the heater core could be leaking.. but it shouldnt freeze..unless you have straight water in rad.. which would not be a good thing..in the cold up north..But still sounds like a window was left open or someone spilled something and didnt say anything..but all of this is IMHO..and I could be wrong.. wont be the first time.

you might want to check the door seals to see if any of them are rotted or got pulled off. How's your heat too is it just warm or hot. I had my thermostat go on my truck and didnt have heat for a while and i had a lot of frost on the inside of the truck. Not water but still enough that i couldnt see out the windshield. I also live in upstate NY so i get the same weather you do.

Radiator is fine heat is wicked hot...Found the problem, the bottom of the passenger door is rotted to all ****. Not visible from the outside unless you really go looking for it. I blasted the heat for a while and bought a Ridex canister to absorb some interior water. Looks like I have a new project for the spring..

That sucks. I was hoping it was a simple case of a window being down just a crack or so, like 05cumminscrx said.

Left my sliding rear window open a night in the Dakota once... came out the next morning and discovered two inches of snow in the back seat. Not fun.

LOL at Jason...did that to my wife once last winter...had a snow storm coming the next morning so I moved the cars to the back of the drive so I could plow in the morning. Left my wifes drivers window openand the next morning she had 8" of snow on the drivers side and had to be in court that morning...never saw her so pissed!!! I was outside trying to get her car dried out and ready for her to go without her getting wet-assed on her way to the court house!!
