throttle slow response on deceleration
Hi guys.. First post after seaching for 2 days..
2000 reg cab, 4x4, 5 speed,5.2 runs great ..throttle is responsive on acceleration.. But when you let off the skinny it seems to be slow to decelerate..till it gets back under 2000rpm.. then it drops like a rock back to idle.. the idle is perfect.. no surges or anything.. Could this be a vacume leak?.. I have cleaned the K&N air filter..sprayed carb cleaner around TB and hoses.. no change in rpm..
This is my first Dodge.. been a Ford guy all my life... so take it easy on me

Have you checked to make sure there isn't anything causing friction on the spring return for the throttle cable / lever on the TB? It could be just gummed up by dirt and residue, or something could be resting up against it somehow. Other than that, maybe check the IAC valve to see if there is something affecting its operation.
No ron333 I aint checked ...Guess that means I better get the step ladder out and crawl up in there..and take a peak..
pedal feels good..and it is nice a springie both ways..I will check the throttle linkage and shoot some pb-blaster on it..

Update.. Cleaned and sprayed pb-blaster on the spring.. it seem to help.. guess the PO played in the mud a lil..lol.. found mud on the intake.. HP the whole engine compartment.. trucked fired right up..didnt even have to dry cap out..
Throttle seems better..
