Issues w/ Tranny Cooler Install--Done w/ Pics
Just make sure to use a tubing cutter (like you would use on rigid copper tubing), and deburr all the cuts. Sorry for recommending that kit, if I had known it would have given you this much trouble I would have steered you elsewhere, lol.
If I have enough tubing to reach, I may be able to just cut one end of the tubing (out of the radiator) and run tube directly from the main metal tube to the cooler.
Yeah, thanks Jr...
Nice kit you picked here...
And why can't I just use a good hacksaw? I don't wanna buy a tubing cutter...

You *could*, but I dont recommend it. I suppose as long as you are careful not to damage or collaps the pipe, then make sure you deburr it inside and out you should be alright... But you can get a mini tubing cutter at lowes for like $3 bucks.
if the hardline is removed so you can blow out the metal cuttings, you'll be ok. if you use a hacksaw on a portion of the line you can't blow out, then put grease on the blade to catch the metal filings. then use an oily q-tip or something to clean the inside of the line. do everything possible not to leave any filings inside the line.
looks like we need a DIY of this. I was thinking of getting one installed when I had my tranny overhauled. but no funds. 40 bucks is a nice price if it's something a noob like me can do.
It is easy...I just tend to make things harder by not taking the easy road. I would really *like* to do it the right way... by getting the fittings and not cutting anything. But, in this case, I think easier is better, and that means cutting.[&:]

There really is no right or wrong way, cutting and clamping works just fine, the fittings might look better, but who the hell is going to know?
