Dodge QC
Hello, guys, I had a new one this weekend. Coming out of the parking lot, I turn right and a noise came from the driver's side, I stop the truck, open the hood: belt was off, the shaft and pulley of my steering pump came off from the impeller...first time ever. Got new pump from autozone with the special removal tool (we had to use a impact wrench to remove the pulley from the shaft - the sales guy was very helpful), back on the road. Have you see something mechanically amazing with your Dodge? I think the truck is very well design ( just some flaws, distributor, crank sensor, starter bolts... ) but weak with the parts quality (heads, transmission...).

That's not that uncommon. The pump shaft or the vane pump snaps. Good thing you stopped and checked. I've seen a few where the pulley/shaft comes all the way out gets hit by the fan and tossed into the rad.
Did you run a couple bottles of fluid through the system to flush out any possible shrapnel?
