EBC Red and EBC Dimpled/Slotted Rotors?
I was doing someresearchon new brake pads and rotors.
I found a great write up on EBC Red, and also found the EBC Dimpled and slotted rotors. Dimpled rotors are supposed to retain thier strength and not crack like some drilled ones are known for.
I searched here and I see that some people tried the EBC Green with mixed results. I know a lot of people here are brand loyal, and I would assume people will suggest the Hawk LTS pads.
My question is, has anyone tried the Reds and the EBC Dimpled and Slotted? I also heard that with the slotted rotors you get some noise. how much noise and what is this "noise"?
I live in New England and braking on these twisty, and hilly back roads tough with the truck as it is (stock brakes). Just looking for better replacements that will not "brake" the bank.
I am not brand loyal, please be unbiased.
Thanks.
Edit:
Found several reviews on the Rotors, I guess the give off a whisping or whirling sound when braking. Some people complain about it, anyone getting that from their slotted rotors?
