Default Performance Difference- Catback system vs. muffler replacement

Was wonderinghow muchdifference in performance and sound would there be if I were to install a flowmaster 40 muffler on my stock pipes vs. installingan entire single outflowmaster catback system?

Probably none
But you get a fancy chrome tip on the cat back [sm=smiley20.gif]

Not much, a little better with a larger single out pipe but probably not worth the $$$.

What I did was have a 3" single all the way from the y-pipe in front of the cat to a 3" si/so high flow cat to a 3" si/so Flowmaster Super 44 and out at the stock location. The only thing I might still do later is get a better y-pipe from the stock manifolds to the cat, as the stock one tends to be a little restrictive. But that will wait until I have more money to spend on it... I just had the front ball joints and u-joints replaced, and $800 later, I'm a little short of cash for upgrades at the moment.

I haven't got the chrome tip yet either, but will here eventually.
