double din tv in 98 dodge ram... new pics....
yep that what i had originally, and i also thought that i had a double din dash...lol i ordered the tv and went to install it and i found out that the opening on the bezel was too small. thats when i just decided to start cutting...
exactly, but the screen in the dash is so fu***N awsome if i do end uo getting one well i might be cutting to.so what are you going to do about color.black?also the stock dask has like an orange peel are you sanding the whole thing smooth.what r u painting it with
yea i was thinking about doing white but im proly gonna just keep it black..i will get everything sanded smooth and spray it...it is gonna look pretty clean when its all done
I believe Duplicolor has a good paint for this. I think it was called their "Vinyl and Fabric" paint. Check out their stuff though, I know they have the right stuff for the job.
P.S. Don't hold back on the pics!! I've been planning to do this to my truck for some time now. Also.... did you have to trim anything IN the dash to, or just the trim bezel?

I took my leftover paint that I used to paint my truck and painted my dash with it. I prepped the stock dash by sanding it smooth, using a filler primer to build it up some and then sand it with about 400 grit. For the final touches, I used an ultra fine steel wool to make it baby bottom smooth and then painted it like I would paint a truck. I used a HVLP spray gun from Advanced Auto Parts ($100) and applied two to three thing coats. Wait about 15 minutes between coats. Then finish up with several coats of clear. For a truly awesome mirror like finish, lightly wet sand the dash after it has cured for a day or two. I liked it a lot (until my truck was broken into and the das broken into pieces) my friends and whoever else always thought it was really really cool. lots of ahhhs and "did you do that?"
kool thanks for the suggestions....yea i had tocut out my ac duct a little but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be....i should be finished later this week so ill post some more pics
