Default Finally 4.10 gears

I finally bit the bullet and ordered up a set of 4.10 gears. The fronts include the carrier, ring and pinion, and the rear ring and pinion are Richmond manufacture. $275 plus $35 shipping for the entire package.

My mechanic told me $250 per axle to install, so now I've gotta gather my new rear axles ($116 each at Summit Racing), 7 new U-joints ($20 each at Summit Racing), and front and rear install kits ( about $130 each at Randys Ring and Pinion).

So for about $1500 I'll have everything re-geared and will be able to haul a**** and my camper.

Mine also cost about $1800, but that also included the purchase and installation of an Auburn limited slip at the same time.

Can't afford to upgrade the rear carrier to a limited slip so am just using the one that came with the truck. If it wasn't for the upgraded axles and $140 in U-joints (no use putting the old ones back in) I could save myself about $370 +.

Rear ring and pinion and front ring, pinion, and carrier. I'm also installing all new u-joints and new rear axles.

Hey Guys,
I've read just about every thread on hereregarding gears and can't find a definitive answer. Not to mention the fact that the mechanics around here are no help. You can see my truck stats below. I'm running 285's on stock gears. I know I should upgrade, but I don't know what to. The biggest I'll probably ever go on the tires is 35's. What gearing should I go with??????

Thanks a ton,

I got my Auburn LSD for $357 from Rye Valley Gear and Oil then had to pay $14 something shipping but I was in the same state. Might be more if I was in a different state. do you have the open diff now or the LSD? If you have the LSD I'd upgrade it before it goes out on you.

There is the info for the place I got mine. It was the cheapest I found.
