99 problems
I have a 96' Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L. I just purchased the prerunner 8" coilover system from tellico4x4.com, they forgot to mention the kit doesnt come with rear shocks anymore and only sent me a set of 3" rear blocks. To top it off after the kit was installed my truck was about 3" higher in the front so I now had to do a shackle flip to level it out. After all these problems I still put on the 3" body lift. I put in 4.88 gears in the front and rear and now after Iv spent about 7 grand the past two weeks I would expect to have something reliable. PLEASE HELP.. I cant go in 4 wheel drive, the truck looks ridiculous and more like it was for show than go with the double stacked rear blocks (pureperformance's sick joke on me) and im trying to find ladder bars for the rear but cant find ones big enough for my truck anywhere.. this kit was garenteed to relocate my front axle and defenitly didnt, should i extend it and would that be the end of my problems? I have a little of money I can keep putting in it but reliability is key
They are correct on one point. The kit doesn't say it comes with rear shocks. It does state that
If you go to Pure performance web site, http://www.pure-performance.biz/it does offer the rear shocks.
Options:
* Rear long travel hydro shocks retail for $99 per pair.
Your kit is as involved as mine and then some......
Double adjustable front pinion angle through the factory cam locks and the supplied torque arms so it is right the first time.

Ya I talked to Lori, She takes care of all of their orders and basically what it came down to was when I ordered my kit tellico4x4 hadnt updated their catalog and they still had that it came with the rear shocks. She was very nice and sent me some shocks to make up for the mistake but they came today and are way to short.. When I extend them to their full length they wouldnt be able to attach to my truck. There from superlift, theyre decent so Im just gonna fabricate a new mounting bracket for it. I appreciate the info on the shocks from pureperformance, but Tellico4x4 just updated so they were helping me out before I spent anymore cash. Im trying to figure out how to stop axle wrap in the rear and I cant find a traction bar long enough.. Instead of spending the 700$ does anyone know if the leaf spring helpers would make enough difference? they look like they could beef it up quite a bit and I cant really see that having to much movement in them. As for the relocating the front axle.. the kit falls short, Im just gonna lower the front about an inch and try to fabricate something from scratch to lower my tranny and transfer case.. I hope I dont have to much work cut out for me on this
i dont know if you could find ladder bars that big.have you ever herd of a four link rear.its way better then latter bars, and you could custumize it or buy a kit.jegs has some i wish i could give you some exact web sights but i cant because i suck on the computer.ean and jessi on xstream 4x4 put this on all there lifted truck, rock crawlers, and stuff.just goggle it, u should find what u need.
Thanks man definitly helps, I checked it out and got alot of ideas. The kits were nicely priced usually around 150-200$. Now the question Iv got to that is, those kits are exactly like the long arm set up for my front axle, My friend has two extra for a 07 silverado 2500 laying around. Im assuming it wouldnt have to be a four-link set up and just go with the two but am I supposed to put these at a certain angle? Am I wrong in assuming these look pretty straight forward to make?
ya they are pretty straight forward to make,if you got a plasma cutter you could make someprettyrad mounts.the angle you choose is to your prefferance depending on what you want to do. i know race cars, the further back they are from the teeter point, you weelie;the more forward you are from teeter point ,the tires spin;if its just perfict, the car will squatt and put all force to the pavment, instead of wasting it in a wheelie or spin.its pretty much the same with 4 wheelin too.this is an equation where every vihecal is different.try going on to a 4x4forum ,they could probobly help more.u might evan find someone who is doing this.
