Latch sticking won't lock up
My tailgate opens real nice but won't catch when I go to close it. I have to slide downward this pin thats located on the end of the gate. It is a hard pin to slide back but it does latch up after I push the lever down. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Two possiblilities here:
The two bolts that the tailgate locks latch into are adjustable. It takes a rather large TORX socket to loosen and adjust them. Close the tailgate and watch the latches catch the bolts from each side. Adjust the one that is out of alignment. Also. you can lube up any moving parts in the latching mechanism with a can of white lithium grease and it'll work wonders.
