Default 408 Tuning?

I have a 96 Ram, I was looking at a stroker kit but the tuning you guys are talking about from SCT I cant seem to find for my year.. If I dont worry about raising my redline and focus on torque would I still need some engine tuning or should I be alright?

You might not be able to SCT tune a '96, but they do Make a Mopar Performance PCM for that year. Contact member Parts/Service and he can probably track one down for you.

The jet chip you are running gets relearned by the PCM and becomes less and less effective the longer you use it. If you take it off and reset the pcm and reinstall it, it'll probably shock you how much it's bogged down since you first installed it.

Alright thanks Ill defenitly do that, but still does anyone know if Ill really need it or not? The truck stock runs naturally rich and as far as head work or a cam goes I would be keeping my stock setup until I decide on forced induction which would be atleast a year or so.. Aim4squirrels how is that fastman throttle bodyworking for you?
