Default Wierdest thing...

I was going thru the same carwash I always go thru today...the auto type w/ the undercarriage blast... Well, I guess I went slower than normal, cuz when the engine got over the sprayer, my truck just died and wouldn't crank back up... Never has done that before... When the sprayer went off, she fired right back up without skipping a beat. Think I'll do the DIY from now on...I didn't like that at all...

Hmmm...that's interesting. Wonder if it sucked water into the intake...

Yeah that is kinda weird, especially since it hasn't done it before. I rarely ever use the Auto carwashes; mainly because I can get a much better wash for half the price if I do it myself(they always seems to miss spots) and I also like using pressure washers(it's just kinda fun). I'd say do the manual from now on, or see if there is a specific reason as to why it would die at that point.

I don't know what it was...it would start back up and idle at about 100 rpm's then die...until the water quit spraying...then, bam, fired right up...

NEVER USE AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES! I had the unfortunate opportunity to work on one in Pompano Beach, FL. It was so disgusting, my father wouldn't even run his truck though there when Conrade Klara offered for free. Nails and glass lying around, the brushes were disgusting, we tried washing our hands with the soap, and it was like using water. Horrible. This place was even directly across the street from a Lambo, Ferrari, and Land Rover dealer! My point is if it was that bad in that nice of an area, can you imagine what the rest of them are like?

I never use the ones with brushes...this is one of those "touchless" autos. Just high pressure spray action... I like the undercarriage blast, and have used it many time before...guess I just went too slow. But I didn't like the amount of water that got up into the engine bay...think I'll stick with doing it myself.

But then the touchless ones dont get it very clean. You are going in the right direction by doing it yourself, even the ones that you put the quarters in and wash it yourself are better.

Btw, how is the trans cooler, plugs, and wires workin out for ya?
