Oil Pressure is dropping off.
After about 15 minutes of driving my truck the oil pressure is dropping off. It starts out fine in the 40's and after I drive for a bit, itdrops to zero when I'm at idle. Any idea's? Sending unit? Oil pump? Guage? Or worse?
I would verify oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.
(Unscrew sending unit and install mechanical gauge)
If it still drops way low pull the oil pan and inspect. If the pick-up screen is plugged you can probably clean it out and be OK.
If it is fairly clean you probably have worn out crank and rod bearings.
Any noise from the engine when the oil is hot? Lifter clatter is usually the first sign.
