Default Fuse block question

My new Painless CirKit Boss fuse block has to tap into the stock fuse block at a fuse that is ignition switched. The fuse tap needs to go on the hot side of the fuse i'm tapping. Whats the best way to tell which leg is the hot side?

if you have found the fuse you want to use, go ahead and pull the fuse out and use your elec. tester on each leg in side the block one at a time.one will be hot and the other will be load.

Ok, that's what I was planning to do. Just wanted to make sure it was ok to be poking around in the fuse socket.
