Default Transfer Case rear extension housing replacement

Hey everyone! I am replacing an extension housing on a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, and cannot get the old one off. I have removed the rear drive shaft, and the four retaining bolts but it seems as if the bearings of the spline shaft (out of the transfer case) have been frictioned/pressed into the extension housing. How do I get this off? Am I missing a piece to the puzzle? Please help ASAP!

Go here and download the service manual. http://www.pavementsucks.com/forums/...hp?topic=49982
It has all the info on the transfercase you need. This is not dialup friendly as its the whole ser/man and is large!
