hey guys, im lookin to switch to a tonneau cover soon and iwanna do a straight up trade. but i dont know if a cap is worth more than a tonneau or not? the cap was bought in 97 and is mint except one chip about the size of a nickel wide on the pass side top. and there were rails on the roof but not now, new struts for the rear window, and two sliding side windows. what do you think i should do? sell it and buy a cover or trade it?

 

It's going to vary- a lot.

I just bought a used cap for $100 (in Texas) and they go up to about $500. All glass and screens were in good shape. Paint was decent, needs to be washed & buffed. Both handles work but are missing keys. I would suggest checking eBay and Craigs List in your area.

We can't give the hard caps away around here. Do whichever you can make the best deal in your neck of the woods.

 

lol. thats great i cant find them around here and color matching is almost impossible.

 

I am trying to sell mine for $300. Using Craigslist now. Got a couple of nibbles, but it looks like I may be dropping the price a lot to get rid of it.
