Default Help!

I went out to start my truck earlier today and it wouldn't start. It clicked like it was trying to start but didn't do anything. I haven't noticed any problems with it recently, just today when it wouldn't start. Its a 99 with the 5.2L and an auto if that helps at all. I just got it like 7 months ago and this is the first major problem. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks
Ben

clicks but won't turn over usually means the battery is dead, but that could be an old battery or the alternator not properly recharging the battery. Take it to a parts store and have them test the battery. usually takes 45min and then you'll know for sure which it is.

If you need to replace the battery I'd suggest an Optima red top. They're worth the extra money.

I tried to jump it and that didn't work. Also i have a little battery tester thing and that said it was "low" but not "flat". If it isn't that any suggestions where to look next? Thanks alot!

Rams take a while to jump. I had my bat die and needed to sit with the other car for a good 5 min till id turn over enough to start.

Ok, so i just went back out. I must have remembered it wrong because its not a clicking like it makes when your battery is dead, I've heard that. I sat and let it charge off of another car for 15 min just incase. The noise it makes is hard to describe, its almost like a repeated whur-ing noise. I don't know if that makes a dif. in the morning I'll take it over to autozone to make sure. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the help

that sounds like the starter solenoid or maybe some teeth ground off of your flywheel. But I could be wrong you could crawl under it and get someone you trust to turn it over. While you put your hand on the starter.
