Default Dyno Pull

I purchased a PCMSCAN program last year and I have been using it on all sorts of different vehicles for basic stuff (Diagnose and turn off MIL light mostly) I want to start using the Dyno Pull feature on the program, but I have to have very accurate information to accurately measure horse power and tourque. Can yall help me with some of this?
>Weight of Vehicle
2001 Ram 1500 3.9 2wd shortbed
>Final Drive Ratio
3.55 rearend, but I need the ratio for all the gears in the tranny too, mainly 2nd gear.
>Tire size
I already have that...
This is all of the information that i have to manually put in, from there it uses the PCM to get the rest of the info it needs and it then gives me a graph and max values, pretty cool stuff. I am stock, so I should be around 175 HP right??? I don't know what the torque should be to compare to the computer. If this thing is pretty accurate (wich it should be for $400) I am going to start adding performance parts and documenting the changes. This should help out all the guys here with my kind of truck. Then we can know what mods work for us and which ones don't.

Truck weight depending on options should be in around 4000-4200lbs max I would suspect.
Not sure what gears you have in your trans, can tell you the 46re has 2.45(1st), 1.45, 1.00 and .069.
01 3.9 was 175hp crank, probably see about 140-145rwhp I would guess if its an auto trans, couple more on a 5spd

For the dyno pull feature, do you actually have to use a dyno for that or can you use it as a realtime data logger while you drive?

Sorry for the long wait on the reply (spring break ). Thanks for the info RM_Indy. And ron333, the dyno is built into the program. it gathers data constantly and can record it for playback later. The Dyno feature requires the user to stop data logging recording and to go into a seperate screen dedicated to dyno. It reads the info coming in from the truck and combines it with the information you enter into it manually (see the first post for that) to come up with actual horse power and torque from the time the VSS senses the wheels turning to the time the VSS detects a slowdown of 5 miles per hour or more. I hope I answered your question.

As soon as I get my truck weighed, I am going to see how accurate the software is and then post screen shots on the forum. After that... let the mods begin!
