Ok lets see here. I have a wire running under the hood on the passenger side. The wire is white. and it is running to a white/red trace wire. There are 2 white/red trace wires both have a crimp connector on them. Both run into the junction box, one into the White connector other into the black connector on the far passanger side ill post a pic of it. I have looked over the wire diagram and have no idea what these are. Or what they are being hooked up for. If someone could tell me what these wires are? I have disconnected the wire going to the White/red trace with no effects that I could see. The wire that hooks to the Red/white trace is running into the air box that sits next to the air intake. I have a couple pics let me know what you guys think?

Did you get the truck used? Could it be possible someone modded the PCM or at least added a sensor or input port?

 

yea it is used. I have looked for added sensors etc and i dont see anything. The wire goes to the box next to the air intake. i can get more pics if you guys need them. I just dont know what it is or what it does.

it is not a big deal really, i just want to know what the heck it is.

 

That black box is definitely not factory equip.
What does the black rubber hose (pic 3) run too.
It almost looks like some kind of pump or compressor

 

it is a vacume line. It runs to a spliter. the other end of the box has a hard plastic line i have not followed it all the way. Now i have to figure out wtf that box is. ill get more pics of that box up this afternoon

 

i dont recall a black box like that under my hood and im real familiar with what sunder mine....lets see some more pics maybe further away not so close its def. something added....j

 

Ok did a quick look. And it appears that box goes to the TB. I am thinking it is for cruise control. This is a 1500, v6 ,manual. And i have never tried the Cruise ill have to give it a shot. Ill get some pics up this afternoon. Time for work. Have a good days everyone.

 

I was thinking maybe cruise control.
Are the controls for it on the steering wheel?

 

Could it be aftermarket cruise control? Is there a cable running from the box to the throttlebody?
