Default headlights

I have a 01 dodge sport 2500 diesel the left headlight keeps blowing out. It is getting water in it and I have to replace the headlight. I talked to some people they say I have to replace the whole headlight including the parking light because it comes all in one piece. Will the headlight assembly on a regular dodge truck work on the sport edition? Thanks.

I don't know. I know you have to modify the bracket on the regular ones to make the sport lights fit on it as it's a popular mod. I don't know if they would fit in the sport brackets or not. Honestly I'd just get another sport one. You don't have to get the parking light too. They are 2 pieces unless aftermarket.

You have to get the whole thing as a unit (sidemarker and headlamp) if you order it from a dealer, I believe, and usually you have to when ordering it from a parts store. They are not one solid unit, they are two, hometheaterman is correct.

You can get them separately on eBay, I know that.

When mine was cracked (when I bought the truck), I bought some aftermarket one-piece units on eBay. I love the looks, and they work great. You can get the sport versions on eBay as well I believe.

Thats why I ask because they told me that if I go on ebay that I could get them alot cheaper than from a dealer or parts store but I didnt see anything for a sport so I thought maybe I could just buy for a regular truck and it would fit on my sport. I wonder why they said that it was one piece that I had to buy it all to change it. This was a parts guy that told me that. Saying that the side piece was part of it. My cousin has a truck just like mine but his is not a sport edition and his headlight cover is a different style than my is his has the lines through the lens mine is smooth. Thanks.
