I have a question that i need answered, although i think i already know the answer. I have a 1997 1500 Ram SS/T. I can burn rubber with it, but Im wondering if i have a LSD. I can burn out making both left and right turns pretty easily. And i dont always have burn out marks on the right side. Is there any way that I can find out or does anyone know what the stock rear end is in that truck model?

 

Jack the rear up and put i in neutral. Make sure you have the front wheels blocked off so it can't roll away. Turn one wheel and see if the other spins the same way or opposite way.

 

You can also contact Chrysler and get a build sheet for your pickup. That would tell you.

EDIT: Unless a previous owner added an aftermarket one, that is.
