Default Normal Wear items to Replace at 100,000 miles

2000 Ram 1500 4wd has 107,000 miles on her, and I wanted to know the standard stuff to replace to keep it working like new. I seem to be throwing more and more money at it, and Iowe to much money to get a new one. The u joint are done and I know I need a good pair of shocks. I want to get stuff done before it breaks because its always harder to replace when it is broke. Not to mention that it may cause other damage.

Definely change the fluids, especially the transmission fluid. TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUSH. Dodge transmissions are only happy with good Mopar ATF+4 fluid.

You should read the recommended intervals in the owners manual or the Haynes (if you have one) and then devise your own based upon when you bought the vehicle. I bought my Ram with 114,000 miles and started my schedule right there. Thing that I knew I needed (shocks, brakes) came when I could, but the fluids, filter and all that were changed right away. From there, I set up intervals that I track on a spreadsheet, which makes for easier budgeting.

BTW -- See my link and buy your parts from Rock Auto. It's cheaper that the FLAPS, even with shipping, plus they always send a 10% off your next purchase code that's good for 90 days after every order.
