transmission slipping

Default transmission slipping


My 99 2500 V10 OVER HEATED, AND TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING VERY BAD WHILE OVER HEATED. WHEN IT COOLED DOWN IT WAS OK BUT SLIPS NOW BAD. COULD ENGINE OVERHEATING AFFECT TRANY?

Yes it could but I can not believe the radiator got hot enough to ruin the fluid and make it slip. What does your fluid look like? If it is brown and smells burnt you need to change fluid and filter run it for a week or so and then do another change or you can get it flushed but that tends to knock stuff loose and cause more hurt than good. Botom line is your tranny may have just given up and needs a rebuild.
