Don't know if you are trying to save on cash but Perma Cool makes a direct fit electric fan setup for 94-03 rams i think the draw on it was less than 30amp with both fans on. about 230 for the setup i think

Woah! where has this been hiding. Anyone ever use this?
Why ? I build my own... not 230 for the set up..more like 500.00 for the setup

Finally got all of the parts in and got time to do the work. Everything went smoothly. Had to pull the a/c comp, alt and bracket to get to the t stat. The 180 t stat makes a HUGE difference, before the truck was running over 210. Now with the new rad and t stat it never went over 200. The truck runs a hell of a lot smoother with the new battery cables, they were much easier then i had though.

No time this week for the fans, maybe next week.
Sounds like you're well on your way to completing much needed maintenance. btw, stock t stats should run at 195 deg... so running over 210 showed you needed to do something! Also, as a matter of objectives you have in mind, usually the lowering of coolant temp is a performance enhancer, with the attempt to keep incoming air cooler, thus denser, thus needing more fuel to maintain A/F ratio. I am not so sure its gonna show up on better mileage, but would love to be proved wrong.
Parasitic losses from the fan on belt may be debatable, and even questionable from the extra electrical load.
Cleaning and fixing battery and starter wires is always a good thing, both from looks and operation. Spend a little money there, because a good set of wiresshould last the life of the vehicle.

Good luck!
