Default Whistlin' Dixie!!

Hey Guys,
I installed my fastman TB about two weeks ago. When I put it in reverse and also for the first little bit after I put it in drive, before I hit the gas, it whistles. I dont mean the air whooshing sound from the intake (which I like). Sounds more like a high whistle or leak. Any ideas??
I also switched to a round mopar intake at the same time and used the new TB gasket and air intake gasket provided by the fastman.

Thanks in advance,

I am running the same setup as you, Fastman 50 and Mopar Performance Round air cleaner and have the same whistle. However, I also had the whistle when I was running the K&N FIPK CAI so I'm not sure what the cause is.

Once it decides to quit snowing up here in Minensota, I am going to pull my Fastman, replace the gaskets, and make a new S Bolt for my air cleaner. Hopefully I can get rid of the whistle that I do not like either.

Yeah I'm not sure what to do. I'd really hate to pull the tb off and check because I'm not sure what I could do differently. What part do you think your S-bolt might be playing in the problem? I had to make my own, so maybe thats it???

Check the 1/2 plastic gasket under the cleaner. A gap there would whistle. I used rtv to seal it. I love RTV duct tape in a tube.

The bend in my "S" bolt might be causing the air hat to tilt and not sit flat on the throttle body.

When I replaced my IAC, the first start made a wierd whistling or sucking sound. It did this the first couple times, but I haven't noticed it since. I figured it was the PCM adjusting the new component.
Also, with the round AC, you hear alot more TB noise...not that it's a bad thing, just more noticeable.

I had a problem with Dan's TB gasket and replaced it with a Felpro Gasket. Whistle gone.

I also had the tube that connects to the MAP sensor in the front crack open and whistle on me several years ago. Took forever to find that one. Try a rubber washer on the top of the Air Hat before you put on the wing nut too. A little grease or oil on the rims of the airhat where the filter touches can help with the seal too.

I havent had a chance to check everything yet, but I noticed another factor today.
The whistling sound, which isn't part of the normal "whooshing" from the intake, only happens in reverse or drive while on the gas WITH THE A/C ON. You can also hear somethingengage in betweenturning on the air and the whistling. Leads me to think it might be a vacuum leak problem??? Especially since I already had the typical issue with air diverting from face vents to defrost when I get into the pedal.
What do ya'll think?
