Heater blowing cold air when not moving??
Recently my heater has started blowing cold air when it is idling or i am like, stopped at a stop light/sign etc. Kind of annoying when trying defrost the ice off the windshield in the morning. The heater works perfectly and sometimes even gets uncomfortably hot when i am driving or moving, but sure enough when i stop, it gets ice cold again. I have had nothin but trouble with my A/C since i've had the truck, and it has been in the shop twice, yet to be fixed, does that have anything to do with the heater or are they totally not related?
--Man its a good thing i'm totally obsessed with my truck..or i would be kinda pissed about all the stupid things that keep breaking or happening to it. I get it out of the shop and it seems like something else immediately breaks, got my money's worth on the 2 year extended warranty after only 6 months

RE: Heater blowing cold air when not moving??
The engine temp stays the same, the gauge is..i BELIEVE, could be wrong, this is just from memory, 170 on the left, 210 in the middle and 260 on the right..? once my engine warms up, it goes to just before the middle 210 and stays there, pretty much no matter how hard or weak i drive, its always the same temp..once it gets warm of course

RE: Heater blowing cold air when not moving??
my guess is you have an air pocket in the cooling system, try putting the front end up some and opening up the cap with the motor cold. turn the heater **** to full hot and start it up and let the t-stat open up and do it's thing. you might have to add some coolant to get the level right. I have a bmw 3 series and this is the exact same problem i have with that car, the above procedure is what is necessary to fix it so give it a try. you might also have to rev the motor once it's warm to get the coolant to flow and hopefully push out the air pocket. hope this helps... keep us posted.
