never had one snap, they're only torqued to 12ft/lbs. Guess maybe you could have one rust one you and stick.

Everything you need is in the fantastic DIY guide Steve did.

Man, don't even be putting ideas like that in your head. Pick a day when you have plenty of time to do it and just take your time and enjoy the feeling of not getting shafted by the dealer, LOL.

+1 on the taking your time....makes all the difference...a hint.. if you read the DYI... theres a suggestion to remove the shroud and fan...trust me on this one.. its the way to go...makes it soooo much more comfortable to work on the whole thing.. making it easier on you to take your time.. not straining or stretched out all over.. I am taking a few days off work starting the 14th to do my intake plenum gasket, lifters and pushrods also.... a few days gives me time to do it right.. and.. if anything does go wrong.. time to get it worked out...

As for the snapped bolts.. I do recall a few people saying that some of theyre intake bolts rusted bad from leaks.. one snapped on someone else awhile back...luckily.. once the intake was removed.. I think he could still get a bite on what was left sticking out of the block.....you never know.. so... make sure you have time...just in case...( if your not sure.. or start to feel really hard to remove bolts..use lots of penetrating spray!!!! ) LIke Aim said.. they are just supposed to be torqued to 12 ft/lbs.. but.. time and crud around the bolts can make it alittle tough at times.

PS.. I tend to go overboard.. I keep alot of spare parts just in case.. Injector connectors, o-rings, extra bolts, etc..

+1, It is very good idea to have some extra injector o-rings, the injectors can be a bastard to get seated in the intake manifold and sometimes the o-ring tears causing a fuel leak.

Make sure you get new intake manifold bolts/they are torque to yield bolts, only good one time
