best 6by9 speakers
I don't really see the need for 6x9's other than for bass and you are better off with a sub as far as that goes. A lot of the audiophiles I know like to disconnect the tweeters on the rear speakers or run no rear speakers at all. I personally don't do that as I like sound coming from my back. Anyway my truck has 6.5"s all the way around. Components up front coaxials in the run by a 4 channel Alpine amp putting out 70watts rms per channel. Then I have 2 12" Infinity subs powered by a 500watt rms Profile California amp and it sounds good. Bass is nice and tight and hits hard goods mids and pretty good highs. I'm pretty happy with my setup but at the same time I guess a set of 6x9's would be okay if you didn't want to spend a ton of money on your setup. It would give you a little bass.
+1 go with a 6.5 inch component set. and a sub, the definition would be much better then any 6x9 you could dream of. If you have the money go with a set of mb quartz and a hifonics amp, the win the clarity competition every year down here in daytona beach. They do not win the loudness competion where people cram 50 subs in the bed of a truck, the clarity competion, they are only aloud one set of speakers, and one amp, with stock battery location.
I went this route, but the speakers will set you back around 1000 dollars, not exactly pocket change, but trust me this truck jams. In my jeep I have 2 hifonics amps and if I had the money I would definately put 2 of them in my truck.

i would recomend Boston Acuostics. out of all the speakers ive heard they sound like your in a movie theater! I personally have infinity's and 1- 12"audiobahn 800watts w/ volfenhag 800w amp. but my friend has bostons in his ford same setup except only 500w amp/sub and his sounds like a movie theater the highs are clear, mids arent defening, and the bass is CLEAN, when listening to metal the sub never skips! you hear every bass drum. if you got the money i would say Boston Acoustics
i just bought the new infiniti Kappa Series.... sound best out of any speaker ive heard. Capable of taking up to 330 watts each. Good highs, mids, and bass. Just put them in yesterday and im in love with them lol
