Default front end grease seal ?

Two quick questions. The grease bulb(?) from the track bar to the bracket on the driver's side of my truck is split. Maybe age or too much grease, who knows? Does anyone know the name of that part of the part # by chance. Second, it seems that it is simple to replace. Just undo the cotter pin and bolt and things should drop down. Is it that simple? I'm mechnically inclined enough to be stupid.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe if you could take a picture. There are a couple of different parts with a boot.

Check out this parts list found here:
Its under the DIY section at the top, it helps alot. Names every single part on the truck.

Yeah, most will call it a tie rod end boot.

No, its not as simple as unbolting and dropping it out. Its a tapered bolt.I usually tap the mount (read: Hit HARD) with a small sledge to knock it loose. I don't recommend hitting the end directly, you don't want to damage the joint. You could also use a pickle fork if you plan on replacing the boot, that tool tends to tear up the boot.

I have not seen just the boot replaced. Good luck.
