OMG $$ for bolts

I had to buy 3 new hub bolts ..for the new hubs bearings... 21.95 each from dealer.. I thought OMG.. but then again.. I dont want the hubs to fall out..[:-]lol But still $$ for bolts..lol

if you want for next time maybe match up some grade 8 bolts at your local fastener store. Might be cheaper. Just a thought for next time.

I tried those hardware bolts.. our local store dont have metric bolts that big in a good grade of bolt..
Dealer didnt even have them in stock.. wont be here till in the morning..

PO had replaced axle u-joint on one side.. and it looked like he striped one of the hub bolts almost..and the other came out fine.. the last one..well ummm.. I had to use grinder and cut the head off.. it was round...
passenger side came off easy had it down in less then 20mins... . I thought this aint going to be as hard as I thought.. spent the next 2 hours extracting 2 bolts on the drivers side...lol

Not to intrude into your thread but would you know where to get the driverside axelshaft for a 98 1/2 ton.. Its the 44 but noplace around here.. (SOutheast Wi) has them.. there is a waiting list.

I like this guy.. he is a ebay seller.. and has bunches of used truck parts.. I mean bunches.. You can contact him about the axle... and I dont worry about thread hijakers...LOL

Go to www.car-parts.com and do a search in the areas near you. Should be able to find exactly what you need.
