Tranny seems to skip 2nd and acts like a cvt
I got a 95 ram 1500 and the tranny seems to be going fine in 1st gear and then when it shifts to second at around 2.5krpm, it goes in but just one second later it shifts to 3rd gear and im down at 1.8krpm and as the rpms goes up the mph goes faster up with the throttle at the same position. As soon as it hits around 2.4k-2.8krpm it stays there while the mph is racking up. Im at 50mph at about 3.3k rpm.
I swear, as soon as it shifts out from 1st gear, the transmission felt like it was a cvt tranny....it stays at around a certain rpm but the mph just keeps on going.

Check your TV cable from your throttle body to the transmission. It controls the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. If it is out of adjustment or any of the connecitons are loose this will occur.
I posted last week about this problem to another person and included 3 pages from the 01 Ram Service Manual about adjusting and checking the cable. Do a search and you'll find that info. For that person, the TV cable was the problem.
