Default More power for my 318

Hello,

I bought my 99 dodge about 2 years ago. It's a 4x4 manual shift with a 318 motor. The problme I have is it just doesn't have the power I want. Once it reachs about 3500 rpm's the power just levels off and thats it. Is there anything I can do to give it some more power? Chips, timing Etc!! Any help

Thanks,

Matt

I recommend the SCT Tuner, whether you are running a modified truck or not. It will give you 3 different tunes, and can be programmed for the specific mods you do to your truck, or if it is stock, will be tuned to get the most from the sock setup as well. For me it is probaby given me the most bang for the buck. I have slightly modded my truck and this thing really allows the mods to be used at their full potential. Upgrades to the programming are usually free if you buy from the same guy I did, and he can adjust the rev limiter, ignition timing, fuel delivery, air fuel ratios, etc. This thing will even read and clear trouble codes on the PCM. Read the description in my signature photo and you will see what I've done to my 318. My truck runs strong! That list will give you a little insight to what can be done, but there is still much more you can do. I am only a backyard mechanic, but some of the guys on here are very knowlegeable with lots of experience. Welcome to DF.
