couple tune up and maintenance questions
I am getting a 98 Dodge ram v6 from someone that has 107,000 miles. I plan on making this truck last me so I will most likely empty out all of the fluids and replace it with quality stuff (coolant, power steering....) Also, my family has never done any types of tune ups on vehicles we have owned in the past and I really think I should start. With a tuneup, Should I just change the spark plugs andthe wires? Or do you guys do a little more?
Also, What are some good, stock height shocks for the 1998 model 2WD trucks? I want a comfortable ride.

make sure to grease all of the points
maybe a round mopar air filter also.

Dont cheap out on the plugs wires and cap and rotor... there is a difference..
Clean your TB....theres lots of posts here that will help you do it.. its very easy and can make a difference in how well your truck runs...( dont be affraid to PM me if you need some help..)
your stock airbox is OK.. but you can go with a round one for alittle better breathing...use ATF+4 in the tranny and change the filter.. its very easy to do and may prolong the already long life of that tranny.
Keep track of when you do things.. this way you can keep a schedule and not let things go for too long.
Shocks.. its a matter of opinion.. Mine is 4WD so I use a slightly stiffer shock than you would want.. but i am sure there are a few 2WD guys here who can give you a better idea....Have fun with it... you always learn alot from your truck when you do tune ups.. and...
Take a good look around as you do your tuneups.......keep an eye out for leaking gaskets, fluids, broken parts.. ( bolts..vacuum lines, wires...) this way the next time you do one.. you'll notice if soomething's different..or.. if a problem arises.. it might be something you already saw under the hood..
