4wd vacuum problem HELP!
I finally figured out that the two vacuum hoses that run to the CAD connect to the top of the transfer case, which in turn means that the valve inside the t/c that switches the vacuums between the two hoses isn't working right anymore...right? what do i do now, it seems like my only option is to drop the t/c out of the truck and take it apart. Are there any other things i should try first?
the truck keeps vacuum in one line (the engaged position of the CAD) whether or not i take the truck out of 4wd or put it in. Right now to take it out of 4x4 i have to climb under it and unplug the cad (plug 'em back in reversed) HELP

Sounds like the vacuum switch is stuck. It simply unscrews from the transfer case, there's a rubber connection for the vacuum hoses. The 4wd vacuum harness also leaks sometime, but the switch and harness together from chrysler was something like $60 CAD, just change 'em both! easy swap!
unfortunately, posi-lok is closer to $200.
the t-case vac switch for the np-231 should be real common and pretty cheap. i'll look for a link.

I found it at my mopar dealer for 24.99. I didn't get a chance to look really closely at whether or not it is hard to take out, can i get it out without taking theentire transfer case out?
also, the 2000 came with the np231 and np241 transfer cases i think, how do i know which one is mine?
Thanks a bunch guys

Yes. You'll just have to do it by feel. Grab the right wrench, the switch is located on top of the transfer case right next to the linkage, if i recall correctly (front drivers sideish). If it's a 1500 it should be a 231. Switch is the same though I believe.
