just got back from alignment shop. the toe was off and it drives better but still wanders a bit. guy said that could not find any play in tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm, or ball joints. he said only other things would be bearings or gearbox. now just curious will i need an alignment if i do the bearings? i want to replace those first before the gearbox.

 

what did he do to the caster?

just occured to me that your control arm bushings could be loose as well.... that would put movement on your tire(s) and cause it to wander.

 

he left the caster alone he said that it was in specs.where is the control arm? he said he couldnt find any play anywhere.

sorry but this post wont be much help, but my truck is horrible about wondering steering too. So if you fiqure out what is wrong with your truck, please PM me.

tell me if this is normal; my streeing box has like 1/2 inch play each waywhen i wiggle the rod going to steering box. Is this normal?
