Default Throttle body spacer for clearance

Ok so I'm getting more active on the forum today, sorry if I'm missing it in the search feature...

I'm planning to remove the stock air cleaner and install the round style. I've read that I may need a spacer for clearance but my question is do any of you know a reasonable place to get a spacer?? I keep finding them for near $100.!! That's not reasonable for me...

Just get a filter setup you don't need a spacer to use.

I had just planned to purchase on of the 14" x 3" round filters from the auto parts store...

The other option is that small triangle shaped one...

You don't need a spacer from my understanding of the topic, and I don't even have the 14x3 round setup.

I think it depends on witch one you get. From what i remember one has a concaved bottom so it wont reach w/o the spacer, and one dosen't.I thought that whoever wrote the postthat i read said he just went out and got the cheapo autozone one andthe spacer wasn't needed. I've been thinking about doing it myslef but as long as there are other matnince type things to do I can live with the K&N crap that the po put on

here is a post that pretty much explains it all
